White port
White port is neglected because most people only drink this port in the summer. However, white port is always a fresh appetizer, or in combination with a basil and ice cream in the summer. For example, Churchill’s Dry White Reserve has been ripened for 10 years, giving a very beautiful and deep taste to a white port. The color of white ports is a kind of light Tawny color. Unlike some wines, white port is made only of white grapes. Also white port is ripened for a minimum of three years on the barrel. White port is often drunk in Portugal as a mix 1/3 white port, 2/3 tonic with a slice of lemon.
