Fonseca’s Tawny Port is a blend of ports made from grapes that mainly grow on the upper slopes of the Douro Valley. Before the port is blended each port has a separate ripening in oak barrels for three years, giving them softness and character. By blending every year a port of high, consistent quality is created.
What can you taste? The Special Tawny Port from Fonseca is a relatively full Tawny, with a pronounced fruity character. Because this port is matured in a large barrel, it retains its youthful fruitiness and strength, but it is smooth and round enough to drink immediately after bottling.
Food & Spice: As an aperitif or after the meal with hard cheeses or nuts.
